Egyptisch faience fragment van Aegis van Bastet.
The Aegis is a depiction of the way people honored their god(des). They wore a half circled decorative bow with the face of the god(des). In this case it is Bastet. Bastet was a fertility goddes depicted as a cat for the ancient Egyptians. She was the goddes of caring, joy, dance, music, party, life and warmness. Since the 2nd dynasty she was the protector of the Farao.
